About

Hi!

I’m Amy I’m a 22 year old, 5ft 1, gluten free eater, music and beauty lover living in a little town by the sea. Welcome to ‘A Little Me Beside The Sea’ – my online journal of the things I get up to.

I’m pretty ditsy, loud and make myself laugh probably a lot more than I should. I’m a trumpet player of 13 years, singer with the odd guitar playing here and there – I mean, I can play Wonderwall by Oasis, so I’ve made it right? I’m also that really awkward customer in the restaurant that asks ‘does this contain gluten?’  I have coeliac disease – a very annoying autoimmune disease, in which when my body consumes gluten (wheat, barley, rye and oats) the immune system responds by damaging the small intestine and inflaming the lining of the bowel which can make me really sicky and uncomfortable. The disease cannot be cured unfortunately, however it is managed by a gluten free diet, which honestly isn’t that bad (they do the best chocolate triple cookies in the world…)

I’ve personally experienced how cruel this world can be through some first hand experiences I’ve had to deal with- and by deal with, I mean dragged and picked up by my wonderful family and friends who I’d be lost without. I’m fortunate to have so many amazing people in my life – if there is anyone reading this feeling alone or going through a rough time, just remember – its okay not to be okay and things will get better even if that seems impossible now.

This blog will be devoted to my passions of music, beauty, gluten free living and just genuinely trying to get by as an adult…

Thanks for reading and I hope you stay with me!

Lots of love, Amy X
